--Mara pressed her lips together, then exhaled again. “Luke is - you know how I feel about Luke,” she said, not looking at Leia. “Sometimes I think I’m not very good at this marriage thing, though. It feels so strange. He’s always there. He’s in my head, but he’s also - in the refresher, leaving the lids off things, elbowing me in bed and throwing off all the blankets, tripping over my shoes in the hallway, eating the last of the spiced ribenes, and just - there. I’m not used to it. I feel like I have to get some space, just to deal with it. Then I miss him. I think I’m terrible at this.” She put her hands to her head. “Luke knows it, too, and he’s incredibly supportive in that way of his. It drives me crazy.”
positively wonderful and very true :D

Still one of my favorites. It's a lovely look at Mara and Leia's interactions, and how their friendship would develop after they became sisters-in-law. And of course, wonderful layers of detail and wording, as always. :D

I've always loved any interactions between Mara and Leia. I always felt they would really understand each other. I think the reason I loved this so much was because it was so peaceful. It wasn't angst-heavy(which lets face it: in this fandom its hard not to be angst-heavy. TPTB never cut these characters a break do they?). So, anyway, this is a late review b/c I just found it and I really enjoyed it :)

This was fantastic and yet I was so upset at the same time. Oh, Anakin! Oh, Mara! Ugh, breaks my freaking heart, you know?
Oh, I know! Anything Solo-Skywalker in the pre-NJO era has that edge of angst now, because you know how it all ends up -- dead, dead, homicidal tyrant and then dead....
There definitely should be more Mara and Leia around. They're very alike in a lot of ways, but so rarely get shown just being friends. And like you say, if there's anyone who needs a friend, it's the characters in the GFFA.
Thanks so much for the feedback, and many apologies for taking so long to reply!
