It is disturbing to read these kind of articles in the paper. I'm sure it's equally disturbing for the peoples of other nations to read how many gun-related deaths we have in America. The first and most essential part of global diplomacy is not to judge, but to ask "why". Understanding beliefs and fundamental cultural structures of other nations is key, and highly interesting as well. For instance, in many Arab (mainly Bedouin) cultures the left hand is seen as extremely dirty because you use it when you go to the bathroom, so you would never offer your left hand to someone or touch food with it
