So yeah. I'm experimenting with this Amie Street stuff. Someone, within seconds, recommended Paper Valentines to somebody... so that's cool. Everybody go log in and download the songs while they're free! Review them! Recommend them! All that shit.
I have no idea how to get the player to look right in elljay. Ugh.
Oh hey, it worked.

HARD TO GO BACK THROUGH CONSTANT (IF SPORADIC) EFFORTS IN HINDSIGHT AND SAY "THAT ONE IS PART OF ALBUM... THAT ONE... NOT THAT ONE..."

The way Amie Street users promote the music is on a song-by-song basis. So while it is easy to buy the whole album, the site is most conducive to promoting singles. That's encouraging to me, since it's really how I write songs anyway. I'll be curious to see how those "dodgy, rough" songs do in this medium. On the one hand, Paper Valentines does well: on the other, "Clothes" is also performing well, and it's a song I only ever did one final mix of before the master got fuxx0red.
Approaching the single, then: Paper Valentines is pretty ideal that way, and I think it's carrying the set, but also I've gotten some good feedback on the second half of the set being more "asskicky."
I'm curious to see what'll stick to the wall. Is polish necessary for this audience? I really don't know yet.
