Do you think they place we live has any contributing factor in defining who we are?

I think it does, but maybe not in the way we think. Living in the States and being surrounded by the media projecting fear and end of days (ok just Iraq and that whole mess, but close enough) was all par for the course while down there, but coming up here it was like the whole thing was middle-of-the-paper news rather than front page news, and nobody was terrified. Also, prevalent ideals as to what body type is (more) acceptable changes where you're at. I was low average at 165lbs in the States, and now am high average at 145lbs (I'm 5'9). Where I lived required a lot of driving and exercise wasn't seen as necessary, just something those fitness buffs did. Here with the mountains and really good white water rafting rivers so close it's just expected that you're physically active. I'm not, at least not as much as I want to be, but I feel I should ( ... )
