Scroll question

Ok, so I've happened across the NPC that sells scrolls in the depths of random areas. Are these the same as the ones you get from quests? I'm very confused as to why someone would buy a scroll for 200k when you can get it for much much cheaper in those areas.

Also, how much are Wolbi worth? I got one while fighting Fire Boars today.

scrolls, price check, questions, free market

the scrolls from the NPC are only 100% -- 60% and 10% offer much better stats (because they work less of the time)

Yes, they are different.

Blue scrolls (the ones NPCs sell) are guaranteed to work, but it only increases one stat, and usually by a minimal amount.

Red scrolls have a 60% chance of working, but it increases two stats and the effect is a lot better than a blue scroll's.

Yellow scrolls only have a 10% chance of working, but they increase three stats, and the increase is even greater than a red scroll.

Other versions of Maple Story also have grey and purple scrolls that have a 30% and 70% chance of working, respectively. They have the same effects as the yellow and red scrolls, but if they fail they have a 50% chance of destroying the item.

There are three kinds of scrolls in GMS: 100%, 60%, and 10%. The percentage refers to the success rate. The ones that the NPCs sell are 100% scrolls, meaning they work 100%. The ones usually attained in a quest are 60% or 10%.

People with lots of money usually try scrolling with 60% or 10% because they give more stats. For example, a 100% dagger scroll will work 100% of the time but it will only add 1 attack. A 60% dagger scroll adds 2 attack and 1 LUK, but it has a 40% chance of failing. A 10% dagger scroll adds 5 attack, 3 luck, and 1 weapon def, but it only has a 10% success rate.
