To Bow, or Not To Bow

Well, I have a situation over which weapon I should us. I have a Maple Bow (ATK 46) and a Red Viper (ATK 49), and I am willing to use both. I would love to use the Maple Bow just because it is pretty awesome, but the RV has a higher attack. I should end up with a few 60% scrolls from a couple quests that I could use on either bow. If I end up ( Read more... )

You could always scroll the Maple Bow, hope that your luck is high, and go low-STR for a few levels.

Hmmmm
What do you mean go low-STR for a few levels? I have been keeping my strength 5 above my level.

Well, low-STR means you only put points into DEX. That's why some people are making low-STR archers now that there are maple weapons that don't require STR to equip. That means that they'll be able to put all their points into DEX to get the highest attack possible, and not put any into STR.

Ah! Ok. I see what you mean now. Thanks.

Right now, I'm leaning more towards the Red Viper, but my mind could change.

I dont understand why this is an issue. go with the higher attack. scroll the higher attack.

What is the draw of the maple weapons? I understand the stat thing, but . . . for the most part they're inferior.

I guess I'm just more attracted to the look of it more than anything.

Well, if it were me, I'd use the Red Viper when I need to do the damage it does, but save the Maple Bow to use when I'm fighting weaker stuff for a quest or something. Because it is pretty.

You know, that might just work. I never thought of getting the best of both worlds. Now I just need to figure out what to do with my scrolls. I think I'll use them on the Red Viper, or I could save them.

I'm having the same dilemma, except mine is Maple Soul Singer vs. Hero's Gladius. I'll prolly end up going with the gladius, since the 'Singer isn't even average attack, but the 'Singer is just so pretty. Then again, my drop luck is poop, so I'll have to end up shelling out ~400k for an Ancient Scroll, which means extra expense... D:

If you like slightly higher damage (3 atk doesn't make much of a difference), then go with the Viper. If you go for looks, and won't be too annoyed by every Happy Birthday message that pops up, go with the Bow. If you end up being able to scroll both (which I hope to be able to do with my swords), you can decide then, too.

Hahaha! My drop luck is poop as well, but within taking out around 25 ticks for the lvl 34 quest, the Red Viper dropped causing this dilemma. Otherwise I would have just scrolled the bow and spent as much as I would have had to to buy a viper.

I went for the extra attack, personally. A friend of mine offered me an above average Maple Bow the other day, but then I found an above average Viper. And... the Happy Birthday Maple would really start bugging me.
