Joy and Sorrow: The Paradox of Madama Butterfly

Last night LH and I went to see Madama Butterfly. Admittedly one of my fave operas (well the aria is anyways). It was what I imagined it would be. Simple and haunting and beautiful.

The story of Madama Butterfly is so sad ç_ç beautiful, but sad! Really sad for the poor girl! ç___ç

it was sad and at the same time it brought up past memories of past hurt. I admit I was misty-eyed at times especially near the end.

I love puccini and I like opera.
