Thank you for that, it's an interesting article.
It's scary to think that so many people can pass through school not knowing basic things like sentence structure and an understanding of basic vocab. This definitely applies to the way some people play maple story D:

I don't even want to think about the maturing of these poor kids.

Well, my vocabulary is really bad >> But I got straight A's in everything else ^^; (To be honest, I'm not sure why my vocabulary is so horrible...)

But yes, too many stupid people in the world :( Hopefully the ones that are still smart will save the day.

It's so sad that all I can even do at this moment is shake my head and plan my escape from America.

I'm glad I'm not there.
The ironic thing is, some people still think America as their dream land and now you guys want to leave... XD

Interesting read...

I just read about the education in Japan last week and they were looking at the Indian education system as a model. This is surprising since Japan has been known to have an excellent education system. They always want to improve.
Looks like the article says that Americans are doing the opposite, they don't really care that much on improving the system...

What do they do with the rulers if they don't know how to use it? haha! play with it like swords? XD

Ahh, I read that one too (NY Times, right?) and was equally surprised.

I agree with the general idea of the article, but as to the tone... what a pompous ass.

and if you think the hordes of easily terrified, mindless fundamentalist evangelical Christian lemmings have been bad for the soul of this country, just wait.

That was below the belt. :/

The Bible Belt? LOL...you can tell that's a San Fran-Freako writer. I ran into people like that constantly when I lived there.
