Keito has a hero complex? Sort of.
Keito doesn't mind being bullied.
Being bullied is better than being totally ignored.
He held that belief close to his heart.
...But Keito couldn't stand seeing anyone else being bullied.
He sees the pain in their eyes and he feels that no one deserves that kind of grief.
When he sees a group of juniors bullying a smaller junior, Keito feels an unnatural surge of courage swell within him and he speaks up.
The other boys leave and all that is left is a small boy, curled into a ball with his hands covering the top of his head. He goes over the other boy and the other boy looks up. He is taken aback to see the ferocity his eyes held.
"You're butting in," he says. Keito is now flabbergasted. He wants to say that he's just saved the other boy and that he should be grateful.
"I... was just trying to help," Keito says feebly.
"I didn't need your help," the other boy replies defiantly, "I could have handled it all by myself."
Keito nods hesitantly.
The other boy sighs and leans on the wall. He looks up at Keito, stands straight and bows, "Morimoto Ryutaro."
Keito nods once more, "Okamoto Keito."
Ryutaro smiles at him and Keito can't help but smile back.
