The term "CC the world" refers to the practice of sending an e-mail to one person while carbon-copying every single important person at the office as well; this practice can be used when the author feels like being a squealer, making life difficult for a co-worker, or just plain being passive-aggressive.

If I don't do this for certain people (those in charge of shipping/receiving, purchasing, and HR), I'm pretty sure my messages go straight into the trash. Everyone's aware of this issue and yet no one gets fired.

But then, I'm not in corporate America. I'm in higher education.

there are some advantages to "CC-ing the world," but more often than not, around here, it becomes a way of alerting EVERYONE to another person's failure or negligence.
