LOL OH GOD NO IT'S NOT ALWAYS.
Well, I mean. It's really well written in that when it IS sad, it's... really sad. And it really gets to you.
But it's also got a lot of action! And excitement! And humor! Seriously, this series makes me laugh so hard... It's just so epic. xD <3

But it can be quite sad. Oda said he himself cried while drawing Merry's death. .~.
