He's a tool, no doubt about that. But what's worse is that he's in a position of power. He clearly thinks himself invincible and infallible and for now he actually is.

I wish he at least didn't have so many assholes on his team. I'm losing faith in all humanity after reading their replies.

Yep. And if you dare to doubt their intentions, they're willing to come over and kick your ass. Nice people.

I've posted recaps of the comments in the next entry, if you're interested.

Thank you for being so diligent in your translating. I'm just...absolutely flabbergasted after reading this. Why even call this LiveJournal anymore when they clearly want to turn it into some shady internet marketplace? I really do not get it.

Thank you, I do my best :) but you still might want to add ruljautonews for quick translations of all relevant posts.

I'm not quite sure why they are even pretending to maintain the service at this point. It would've been more honest to say that they want to create something completely new that will bring them money. Honesty. Seems to be a forgotten concept.

ToS changes will be related to the ability of users to place ads in their own journals. Paid and permanent accounts' definition will not be changed. Not sure how it's related to the promise of paids and permanents not seeing ads ever...

I sure hope it is, but am rather nervous about the whole thing. It sounds like a horrible idea that will make people reject LiveJournal even more. :(

Me too. I have exactly no one on my flist who'd benefit from this new feature and I'm willing to bet that with the increase of the amount of reposts this will bring, people who actually generate content not for the sake of promoting themselves or getting money from it will just update less and less.

Yeah... :(

To be honest, after hearing about this wonderful new feature I'm inclined to check if Dreamwidth has mirrors of my favourite communities, in case I can't stand being here anymore. Even after all previous fails I'd never felt the need to do that before...
