When I was a kid...there was this girl who lived next door. I remember she had this pet bird that she absolutely adored, and I always wanted to go and say hi to her...but I never did, cuz I guess I was too shy, or she was busy, or self esteem decided to go on a vacation or something ( Read more... )

Hey, you didn't really ask for help though.

What kind of bird?

I think it was a sparrow. It looked like one, anyway.

I never thought much of it until a whole lot later.

Hm. You have..."paranormal" experiences often?

Yep! I ended up being a paranormal investigator partly because they kept happening.

That poor bird...

Hey, balloons are one of the saddest things ever. They're so pretty, but no matter what you do, they end up deflating. Totally valid thing to think about.

I was sad...I think she was to. She didn't get rid of him after he died right away either...

They make me feel...I dunno. I was told that when a balloon flies away, it means that somewhere, somebody's wish comes true.

That's kind of weird, but it can be hard to let go. Was she okay after a while?

Really? I thought that escaping balloons just meant that some woodland creature was eventually going to choke on the latex or get hurt by the string.

I dunno. I talked to her once, and all it involved was her apologizing to me for the horrible fate she saw for me in the future. I think. She didn't explain, and she moved away.

...Yeah, that's the literal meaning, but it's also the one I try not to think about when I accidentally lose a balloon.
