My yearly spill

Opting to be a wuss this morning and work from home, I was inspired by a Facebook status message on hanseth's page to bake something. My suggestion was, of course, something with cinnamon, namely cinnamon bread.

Deciding to act on my own suggestion, I walked down to Trader Joe's and took my yearly spill on their parking lot walking in. Unlike last Read more... )

I guess it's not just my vowel pronunciations that give that away, eh?

1. I wish to taste your cinnamon bread.

2. Oh, poor Mark! Why does this always happen to you!?

1. And I believe that that's not some thinly disguised metaphor. I'm going to start working on it this afternoon. I highly recommend breadmaking at the next step in your sojourn of cooking. It's quite relaxing.

2. Because I'm a giant klutz. I fear that my demise will be the result of some clumsiness, but I also think that it will be hilarious as well in some cosmic way.

1. This is possible. Though I still need to make steak great, and attempt duck, and make brownies that everyone likes. Also creme brulee.

2. I know I'LL laugh.

1. Great steak involves great meat and usually a grill. It does most of the work for you. I wished I liked creme brulee more, but it's since like a plate of death for me given my body's poor reception of dairy, it's probably a blessing. I'm attempting a lovely malva pudding some time this week, which is a South African dessert that should be full of yumz.

2. Douche.

Here, let me make up for my inconsiderate New England peers:

Are you okay?

Yeah, I'm fine. Just a teeny bit sore in my arm and shoulder, but not like last year when I had the breath knocked out of me and was covered in bruises. Thanks, hon!

Take it easy, sometimes falls hurt more on the second day. I recommend Tiger Balm from Whole Foods if you wake up stiff tomorrow. I use it for dance injuries and it is my favorite.

I'm hoping the smell of Tiger Balm also makes me less appealing tomorrow since I have jury duty. :-)

Thanks for the suggestion!

Hey, no pain, no gain (*)!

(*) Weight, that is. Cinnamon bread = heavy consumption = heavy me.

Yeah, I'm about to pop a couple. I don't see any bruises, but it's hard to get me to bruise. I guess win one for being heavily clothed and stocky, eh?

And... mmm... homemade cinnamon bread. *drools*
