Dam, The Plague of Blood

The Network is full of cries for help today.

Albedo,

They keep telling me curiosity killed the cat, but our last conversation left me a little dissatisfied confused.  So I'll ask directly:

What is it you believe you know?  This time is as good as any, isn't it?  When all other ears are shut against their own cries, you have, now, an opportunity to ( Read more... )

out damn spot, what do you believe?, curse day (affected)

What do you think to accomplish by this, Yeshua?

I have to be certain. Of anyone, I expect you to understand this.

You remember the choices that were made.

I do.

I am merely curious as to when even you would consider something a lost cause.

Is... that really like a lost cause?

The Weaver of the Eternal Circle.

That was your title for him, was it not?

The man I see now and the man I saw then--there's a difference here that leaves me unsettled. I have to know.

Curiosity killed the cat...but satisfaction brought it back. Rather like myself, I'd say, except I need nothing to bring myself back. And I've always been able to speak; do you think anything or anyone binds me? And who, chaos, is my intended audience? You? What have I to say to you, aside from what I say to another?

On to your question, of course. Shall we? Of course, we shall. Clarify for me what you want to know -- and why. And answer my own questions as well...perhaps then we'll have an interesting little exchange, and I'll have my own curiosity sated for the time being as well.

It's not something I'm accustomed to, but in this case, it might be better to be direct.

You are bound to your brother, even you acknowledge this. But let me be your audience for one thing alone, Albedo; I'm confused by your words to me, before. What is it, exactly, do you believe you know about me, a mere engineer?

Implications of knowledge, your choice of words--well, I'm sure you can see how it's a little baffling.

You're something transcendent. You remind me of U-DO, both you and Wilhelm. I don't know why. You can destroy Gnosis with a touch; you have some significance to the universe beyond a typical human. You talk with Wilhelm as if you're old friends.

You have to be something unearthly. What, then, are you?

Old friends--?

We remain civil in spite of our differences, that's all. Being so exposed to U-DO, even the minds of URTVs, designed to neutralize that waveform, can't hold together without losing something in exchange for terrible understanding.

You've paid a great price for a partial awakening. Perhaps that is why you're here.

...I think I strayed from the topic.

There are only two beings here in the City who can define me. If you wish to know, find them and pay their price for that knowledge.

All sentient beings are famously bad at defining themselves, you see. You might learn something interesting that you weren't looking for to begin with.
