Currently watching a special about Peter Jennings. I'm very sad that he passed away - it makes me wonder what will happen to the evening news now that he is gone for good - he hadn't been on since April, but was very involved in the newscasts on ABC. Viewers are predicting that Charlie Gibson will be taking his place - I think this is the only ( Read more... )

yeah I'm working on small canvases and doing a tiny reprint of each character, i've only managed to get 2/3 way done with the one of faye before classes got to crazy when i was doing my undergrad degree - but i think i'll be able to get them done, and when that happens, i'll take pics and post them.

and of course that was me who didn't realize that i wasn't logged in.

I tried to fill the tires on the bike up to 55 psi, but it won't accept higher than 40, so I'm guessing that the guy at bike line wasn't really paying attention when he told me the number

Like a car tire, it should say on the sidewall somewhere what the manufacturer's recommended pressure range is.

I'm terrible for ending a sentence with a preposition, but heck, it's 8:34 and I'm tired

I must be missing the preposition, but in any case the rule is nonsense.According to [Cambridge Crammar of the English Language] (p. 627), "this 'rule' was apparently created ex nihilo in 1672 by the essayist John Dryden, who took exception to Ben Jonson's phrase the bodies that those souls were frighted from (1611). Dryden was in effect suggesting that Jonson should have written the bodies from which those souls were frighted, but he offers no reason for preferring this to the original."

It's a shame that Jonson had been dead for 35 years at the time, since he would otherwise have challenged Dryden to a duel, and saved subsequent generations a lot of grief.
