Again I wonder why I didn't major in English...

I went to the Harry Potter discussion group at work tonight at the behest of my coworkers who run/attend. I didn't realize there would be so many kids there (as in about 12-15-ish). I think it's fantastic that kids get so involved with these books, but I was hoping for something more along the lines of getting into the mythology of the books ( Read more... )

Well, yeah. As much as we old decrepit farts enjoy HP, they are actually written with kids in mind. I think the kids are nice to let us into their world. LOL

Exactly. I must keep reminding myself that I am the anomaly (and that I'm also not the intended audience for HP). But they do work on multiple levels, which is great, because I'm sure these kids will love these books for years to come.

I know he recently wrote something about Much Ado About Nothing that came out in May (and it was about $75 or some such ridiculous amount!), but I haven't heard anything about a biography. But I could easily be wrong. I hope I am because I'd love to read that.

And I so dream about him. Dr. Apfelbaum was everyone's professor crush. ;)
