yeh, think I've given up on that daily sketch thing .... I ended up only drawing that instead of getting on with things. would be ok if I could sketch and leave it at that .. but I like to finish things so it wasn't really for me ...

you're right about reading everything with a critical eye ruining the experience! with my random little goodreads reviews i usually write them a few days after i've finished the book so i'm not reading it thinking about what i would write about it (altho it helps that they're just throwaway comments rather than proper reviews, as i feel like i can just write what i might say to someone if they asked me about it, from memory, rather than get my facts 100% straight XD )

i sometimes fall into that trap with the small press stuff tho, i try to read those through once just to enjoy them at face value, then only write notes about them on a second read through...but sometimes i do catch myself jotting down notes as i read them for the first time ^^;;

yeh ... its the same with film and stuff. people just make themselves not enjoy things when they're critical like that. and if they moan at the time they ruin the film for everyone else also. :(
