Of all the weird coincidences: paracelsvs and I both had root canals in the past 24 hours. Also, neither of us is in any particular pain from it. Go figure.

You know, I also had no trouble drinking out of a glass immediately afterward while still all numbed out with anaesthetic, despite the dental assistant's warnings that I would need to hold a towel under my mouth. I had thought it was just because of my skill at fine motor control of my mouthparts, like I'm always telling women at bars about.

Root canals done with modern techniques are often essentially painless, though there's an element of luck. The one I had several years back was just a tremendous relief; I'd been hurting terribly before I had it.

from either of mine, 15-25 years ago, just those moments of excruciation during them.
