I was familiar with Tom Baker, and by chance, that's what's playing on PBS right now (but only an hour a week). When I was younger, I thought that it was ridiculous that he should be the longest lived of all the Doctor's incarnations. With that excessive scarf, he surely would have gotten strangled by it at some point. Now, I'm able to enjoy the tales more for the storyline than the setwork, props, and special effects. I even notice how much the acting in First's time is with stage blocking, stage-like set construction, and stage-like props. It was done cheaply and the filming usually on the first take (this is very noticeable when William Hartnell trips over his lines). The stories however, if you give the tech jargon and the wobbly stone walls a pass, are very compelling. I'm enjoying them very much.

I started watching the series from the very beginning. Thank Ninth and Tenth and a long time between Doomsday and Christmas for that.
#4: I didn't know that! I haven't finished "The Chase" yet. He was by far the best American in the bunch. Stereotypical? Sure, but fun.
#8: When I saw them all there, I noticed how short Vicki was, especially juxtaposed with Ian.
Love your icon, too, BTW. It was the first cap I did with an icon in mind. ^_^
