Does saying I find this song disturbing and somewhat offensive make me a hypocrite? Because I have a feeling that if it were a girl rapping about boys kissing boys I might think it amusing instead of just crass. *sigh*

(P.S. This is guy is on a major label and this is his lead single, jsyk)

wtf, vid

Yes, it does make you a hypocrite, LOL. It's like reverse sexism. I hope this song doesn't get popular *sigh*.

*kicks fake gay hard*

I figured as much.

Still, I don't think it's so much his opinion of girl-on-girl make-outs as just the crass nature of the song I'm uncomfortable with.

I get why you dislike the fake gay, though. (Real gay is so much better.)

yah, it pretty much does make you a hypocrite. but, it's ok, everyone is at some point. I've pretty much put to rest the battle of men using women. I figure personal responsibility has to come in at some point.

I suppose you're right.

I don't find it disgusting that he holds those opinions, though, just that he has to be such a pig about it.

Some men, are just going to be pigs.. Its better I think, because if they are pigs just on the inside then you'd never know and might date one, but, if they show their true colors, you can keep them at a distance. I wish more men were honest about their opinions....

I'm going to disagree here. Honesty is good, but I think people should try to uphold a certain amount of decorum - which means keeping your offensive comments to yourself in polite company. I mean, by all means say that you think girl-on-girl is attractive, but videos like this...

I understand where you're coming from, but the social taboo is one of the best vehicles for teaching people what is and is not an appropriate/acceptable thing to believe. That's why it's the social taboo that needs to be broken in terms of accepting homosexuality and a social taboo that needs to be enforce in terms of contravening homophobia.

Er... that rant had little to nothing to do with the above video and is probably more about some racist, homophobic prick in one of my classes. Sorry, lol.

I'm sick of this shit. I don't think you're a hypocrite. And TBH, I'm more upset at the girl in this video than I am at the guy. Cuz the song is just dumb and degrading, and yet there are still girls out there stupid enough to want to put themselves in a video like this. I don't get it.

Yeah. I don't really find that kind of behavior "empowering". I think in certain instances, using your sexuality can make you feel powerful in most cases, girls who show skin on film and do a provocative dance are merely being exploited.

Didn't JC Chasez come out with this song? lol
You're not a hypocrite, girls can just carry some stuff better than guys. Like that Dixie Chicks song 'Earl Had to Die'. No guy could sing a song about killing his wife and get away with it.

Ooh. The golden double standard. Are you saying we girls get away with more? That we are allowed to hold opinions it would be entirely inappropriate for men to believe in reverse?

I know it's true, but I don't really agree with it. I mean, I'm a firm advocate for a level playing field. Unfortunately, though, affirmative action seems to be the only way of getting there ;;

Us girls should get away with more because we are screwed over in other departments. We get paid less, and treated like little powderpuffs.
I think the double-standard is a karmic balancing of the universe.

How ever I would be glad to be rid of it if the genders were to be truly and completely equal, but that won't really happen in our lifetimes.
