Work Schedule... HELP!

So my boss hasn't taken the schedule request in order to actually make the schedule yet. I was taking another look over it and realized that one of the days I had originally requested to work is now sort of "over-requested," translating to there are 4 people down for Sunday. So now I face a conundrum

Can you switch them back again later? If so I say give it a shot. Even maybe tell your boss you want to test out the hours.

Can't really switch them back later (this is my major issue I think). Otherwise I would totally give that a shot. Also, the schedules are for 6 weeks at a time, so if I get something I don't like, I'm stuck with it for quite a while.
