Mmm. Kind of wish this is how it had all happened. Definitely wish it's what had happened with Gabe. This story made itself seem quite canon, actually, and I really enjoyed reading it at... (checks clock) 1:48 in the morning. ^-^' I couldn't stop reading! (yawns) Should probably sleep now. Anyway, great fic! I was thoroughly engaged the entire time, and loved the realistic aspects of Sam and Gabe's relationship.

That's certainly why I wanted to write this--I'm sure Gabriel was fully capable of doing something like this. For the show, it was necessary for him not to be involved. But I think Gabriel would have tried everything within his power to prevent Lucifer from rising.

At least we fans can live in our fantasies.

This was lovely! It was a decidedly darker view on Sam and Gabriel than I've read in the past, but I like it. The time frame and the events at hand have a lot to do with their personalities and I think that darkness/bitterness is an extension of that. Also, the way you weaved canon into the story and twisted it was marvelous.

Canon-wise, they both have some pretty deep psychological issues with family. I wanted them to butt heads about it, since it's one of the most obvious areas of slash-ability in the show between these two characters. You can't really write a super happy SPN fanfic without all the Winchester baggage making a guest appearance.

I love this story. It really is amazing and I think you've caught the characters perfectly. Gabriel's just... he's just so Gabriel. I only wish that we got to see more of the story. And that there was more Crowley because Crowley is entertaining.

I would have loved to make it longer, but unfortunately I just ran out of time. I'm glad people seem to agree that I got Gabriel's voice right.

You are so good at their voices! You have the characters down pat, and your story is a great fix-it. =D

For his part, Crowley did not look surprised by Gabriel’s sudden increased proximity. “One too many encounters with you has developed an uncomfortable intimacy between us, I must admit.”

I could hear him saying that! =D (Really. Did you pull it from an ep. I'm not remembering, or something?)

I didn't pull the line from an episode. Just watch enough shows that our dear Mark Sheppard has happened to make an appearance or two in. I'm fortunate enough that part of my writing process is seeing the characters interact in my head like a move or an episode, so I simply write down what I "hear" if it sounds canon.
