Ezio paused in the doorway of the Sanctuary. He wasn't sure he was seeing right. He'd heard shouting, Desmond's mostly, but perhaps he was only used to hearing Desmond's voice, and not that of the being in front of his descendant. His gaze darkened a little on the Apple in Desmond's hand and Ezio approached slowly, his hood down and resting on his shoulders, his fingers curling into tight fists. This was not something he wanted to contend with, but he knew he couldn't leave, not now.

"Desmond?" He turned his gaze to his descendant's face and for a moment he wanted to just shout at him for getting that damned Piece of Eden out in the air again, but he knew his grandson was itching to just get home and fulfil his destiny. He understood him, for the most part, and he once relied on the Apple far too much, almost as much as Altair.

His eyes found her, the being that looked much like Minerva, but she wasn't the same woman and it took only a moment to place her. Juno. The one who had shown him so much.

"What do you want from him?"

Desmond knew right away that Ezio was going to be upset. He hated the Apple and never wanted to see it again, but Desmond knew better. It was a tool that they'd have to use at some point. He had to use it to open the Grand Temple. It was something he couldn't just lock away and pretend didn't exist. Ezio's time with the Apple may have been over, but Desmond's wasn't.

"Hey, Ez--" Desmond didn't even get to finish before Juno disappeared and reappeared before Ezio.

The hologram of the shorter woman seemed to size Ezio up. Almost as if she was judging him, wherever she was--or whenever, Desmond guessed. Juno had talked to him, not Ezio. That was Minerva. Though it was obvious what the hologram was.

"Your part in this has played out, Prophet. It is of no concern to you what happens now." Juno spoke. "Go back to your Order. They are the ones who need you now."

Desmond clenched the Apple. "Back off, Juno. Leave him out of this."

"Then he should leave us to our conversation. One he has no need being a part of."

"Cazzo, this again?" He was done with these moving images, but this one was so volatile he couldn't help getting involved this time. He glanced at Desmond, then scoffed at Juno, stepping around her to move closer to Desmond.

"If you have something to say to Desmond, then I am going to hear it. It is of concern to me what happens, because he is my family." He shook his head a little bit and crossed his arms over his chest. "And I have a name, a name that is not Prophet, or any other fool title you wish to force on me. I am the one who spends day in and day out with Desmond, not you, and I am the one who aids him however I can, so I will be part of this whether you will it or not."

So, perhaps, he was taking out his frustrations on her. Just a little.

He would apologize, but he wasn't sure what he'd apologize for. 'Sorry, Ezio, the bitchy space wizard decided to pop in for a visit and I couldn't say no?' Instead he stood quietly, watching the exchange. Desmond himself wasn't fond of The Ones Who Came Before and how they chose to manipulate everything without actually telling them what they wanted. It reminded him a bit too much of how the Templars were, but maybe that's where they got their ideas from - given the video that Clay had stored away for Desmond and the others to see.

"Then you should understand it above all others!" Juno shouted, appearing beside Ezio and her arms gesturing out from her. "If you truly believe in what you state, then you would be preparing him to do his duty. Not allow him to sit here in this pretend life! You would be returning him to our world! Instead you simply allow him to play. Time grows short, Ezio Auditore, and you would have him believe the world will be safe!"

Clay stopped short when he reached the entrance to the Sanctuary. He was too damn nosy for his own good. He heard the shouting and decided to Nancy Drew it and find out what the hell was going on. And what was going on was Desmond holding the Apple. Talking to Juno. Fucking Juno. The lady that told him that he needed to help Desmond Miles.

That, he was not expecting. He didn't realize he was holding his breath until his chest started to burn and he coughed several times then lifted his free hand to wipe at his mouth.

"Sorry. Didn't mean to...intrude."

Desmond sighed. He had no idea about the encounter that Clay had with Juno, really, he was pretty ignorant on most of his distant-cousin's life when it came to things outside of Clay's time in Abstergo. Really, he had no intentions of letting either Clay or Ezio hear his scuffle with Juno. Apparently he yelled way too damn loud.

Juno's head turned as Clay spoke up. For a moment her expression almost seemed to soften, but maybe Desmond was too hopeful for his own good. "And yet you have intruded."

Seriously, Desmond. Loud as hell. Inside voices, man. Inside voices. Juno focused on Clay and he tensed. Didn't realized he was holding his breath until his chest started to burn.

"Heard Miles yelling. Came to see what was up. Didn't realize he had company."

Inside voices don't count when you're in a secret underground room, Clay. Get with the program.

"Yeah, it's not every day you get a space wizard leaving you messages. Oh wait, it is if you're us." Desmond glared at Juno.

Juno gave the remark no attention. "You are lingering. You have done as I've asked, why do you continue to be here?"
