[This is an apology, and thanks of sorts to those that helped her when she was in such a horrid state of mind, so sometime during the week invites are sent out, and they are sent to city wide to everyone in perfect gold and black ink:]

Her Majesty, Elizabeth the I
Queen of England, Ireland & France, defender of the faith, etc
cordially invites you to ( Read more... )

[Nothing like Death Eaters are all Snape, far too colourful for that. But they compliment each other well, her in all white and silver.

But it's a pleasure to meet the man instead of the revenge plotting boy she'd seen initially. Though she's guessing a little, hopefully it's the right guess.]

Ah my lord, it's a pleasure for you to join me this evening.

[ They are quite complimentary. At least he doesn't clash horribly with the queen. Not that he would anyway but it's the thought that counts.

And he'd prefer teen to boy, thank you. It was a very emotional time for someone far too used to being reserved. He's also wizened up a lot since then. No doubts at all who she is. He bows his head. ]

I assure you, your Majesty, that the pleasure is all mine. This is a fine ball to be at with such fine company. Thank you for inviting me.

[ He was surprised by the invite. Severus, the gift. Offer the gift. It's wrapped simply but that is because the potion bottle is ornate and shows off the pretty blue liquid. ] I am afraid it isn't much. [ But have it anyway? ]

I'm so happy to have you all here, it's a pleasure.

[She's surprised, and pleasantly so.] No, honestly, it's fine. I did not really expect anything at all. [and she opened it, staring at it curiously.] What is it? [holding it up to the light to look at the blue shining through it.]

[ Why does he feel a little anxious, like a boy waiting to see if his gift is acceptable? He stops short of shifting about though. ] It is a potion to preserve the life and beauty of whatever flowers or plants you wish, regardless of the season. I ... suspected you may be gifted with flowers you would not want to see wither so soon after. [ >_> Nerves stop. Why do you exist?! ]

Oh. [she stares at the little bottle again, surprised with it, and then she breaks into a big smile. Just for him. Don't be nervous, she's harmless, really.] This is wonderful, thank you. Thank you very much. You are right. It's always to my sadness these things vanish so soon.

[ Success! It even brings a rare, not horribly snarky, smile out of him. ] You're welcome. And if you ever require more I will be more than happy to oblige.

[she thankfully doesn't know his snarky smiles.] Oh I think I will have to call on you for that again, I think it's something I will find very useful. [which was a happy combination in her mind, that which was useful in prolonging that which was beautiful.] Tell me Master Snape, would this work on plants living? Or only those cut? Say if I wanted to have the roses in my garden last longer, do you know something for that?

[ At least not yet. But he's more likely to behave himself around her, even without being in a fancy party situation. ] Cut ones are still living for a time. [ He reaches out to gently turn the bottle in her hand so the small handwritten label on it faces her. It's simple instructions. ] Two doses instead of one could safely be used for flowers in your garden as a temporary solution while I brew something more tailored to that specific need.

[And that is what she prefers, the more honest the intentions of those around her, the better she tended to feel.] This is true. [she reads the little label, nodding.] Well if you can, I should like that very much, and I shall need a lot of it. You'll of course be compensated handsomely for the trouble.

Larger batches can be done. The bottles may not be as nice as this one though. [ But you better believe the stoppers at least might look fairly cool if he can find them cheaply enough. And his labels are always as neat as he can make them. ] I ... would appreciate any amount that was given to be honest. Getting a shop in motion is a bit of a labored effort, though this is the second time I will have done so. [ He hadn't actually thought to be paid by the queen but well, that would be one hell of a name to mention as one of his clients. ]
