[Ezio has everything he needs in order to talk to the Brotherhood, though he has a bit of sad news for them all too. With assignments for everyone, he heads for Mario's study, settling down at the desk and sending a quick message to everyone.

Come to the Villa. I have news and we need to meet as a family. It's something he doesn't want to have to ( Read more... )

[ She's done some wandering since Ezio made all his announcements. She's sad that Fenris is gone, she's a whole different bundle of emotions about actually doing any sort of training. She doesn't want to let them down, and she completely understands why this is even a topic of discussion.

In her wandering she went to another office in the villa, found something, and because it looks so interesting (and should prove some distraction from too many thoughts) she's hauling it back to the study Ezio is sitting in. She can't read Italian. But he should totally know what it's about and maybe she'll learn a few things. She stands in front of the desk, hugging the open book to her. ]

Heya Ezio. [ WOULD YOU LIKE TO LOOK AT THE BOOK? ]

[Ezio eyes her holding Claudia's book and leans back in his chair, raising a brow at her. He can already remember how often Claudia would ask him if he wanted to look at the book, and he wonders how he never half throttled his baby sister for being so irritating most of the time, but he supposes family is family, in the end. All of them are annoying.]

Ciao, Kaylee. Did you need something?

[ All right now she seriously wants to know what's in the book since he obviously recognizes it. ]

I was just lookin' 'round an' I found this book. I was wonderin' ... what's it for? [ She's also wondering a lot of other things, mainly focusing on that training but she's starting easy. Book. What is it. ]

That book? [He offers his hands out for it, opening it on the table and looking over a few of the pages, his sister's handwriting.] This is what Claudia would use to keep the finances in order.

[Settling back in his chair, he gives her a smile.] This villa, at home, heads a small town called Monteriggioni. We had to renovate much of it, so Claudia kept the books.

[ She scoots closer to him, leaning against the desk as she looks at the handwriting again while he talks. Now it makes some more sense. The numbers are obvious, and now she knows they're for money. ]

Monteriggioni ... [ It's awkward coming from her but she still gives it a try and smiles back at him. ] So all these lines are what ya fixed up ... there's pages an' pages full. [ All that work o.o ] I bet it looked real nice all fixed up.

[ His sister. She's heard his name before and she's even staying in her room. ] She's really somethin' ain't she? [ And she's on the list of people Kaylee would want to meet if she could. ] Was she ... also an assassin?

The book is filled with how the town was ran throughout some twenty years, as well as what we rebuilt, what we lost, and the financial situations of most businesses within the town. [He shrugs slightly, nodding a bit.] Monteriggioni was beautiful before it was destroyed.

[He chuckles lightly.] Si, Claudia is... unique. [She's all he has at home, although there is Sofia now and he wants his two best girls to meet eventually.] Not at first, no. Then she showed her talent for it and I had her join us.

's a lot of different stuff to go keepin' in one book. How do ya keep it all organized? [ She knows files in a sort of computer system. Easy to move and organize. Unless the system is crap to start with. ] All that work ... [ It makes her think of the village model. And all those little buildings just destroyed. :c ]

Talent, huh ... I sure could use some of hers. Just a bit even.

I didn't. Claudia did it all. I had other things to take care of. [He can only make sense of about half of it, because his sister had her own way of organising everything and she'd know it better than anyone.] It was lost, but it was worth it while it was there.

[He gives her a smile.] You will do fine, Kaylee, don't worry.

Oh. [ Headscratch. Well it makes even less sense to her. What is Italian? ] That ... sort of looks like a funny way of spellin' 'doctor'. [ Headtilt. Maybe. ] Did ya keep any of the books where this one was yourself? [ Sure it would be just more words she doesn't understand but she likes hearing the stories behind all the old books and paintings ... everything really. He's got a nice voice for storytelling too. ]

Ya really think so? [ ;.; ] I just ... don't wanna disappoint ya. Any of ya.

[A small chuckle.] Dottore. It does mean doctor. [A shrug comes and he crosses his arms on the desk in front of him.] I've collected a lot of things throughout the years. Most of the things here were destroyed and I only came back once, after that happened, but not to retrieve anything. I collected other books after that, though.

[He reaches to pat her hand gently.] Not trying is what will disappoint us.

[ Woo! She smiles. One point to her ... and that's about all she's going to hazard a guess on for now. No need to go ruining that awesome mini victory over reading Italian. ] No one ever tried rebuildin? [ It's sad to her to think of all the nice Italian architecture just being a ... fancy ghost town. ] What sort of books?

[ She turns her hand so she can hold onto his briefly. ] I'll try real hard.

Not in my time, and never the Villa. It did not seem right, not when the Fall of Monteriggioni was an historical event. [A small shrug and he smiles lightly.] All kinds. History books, very old journals, stories, poetry.

[A little nod and he squeezes her hand lightly.] Bene, then that's all that we need.

Historical ... so is it in the history books an' everythin'? [ That does change things a bit. But destruction is still just so terrible. ] Ya read poems? 's there somethin' ya can't do? [ Poetry. Maybe she could convince him later to read something. Just because. ]

's there somethin' 'round here I should use? [ It doesn't seem nice to go finding say, a knife in Claudia's room, and just claiming it. Everything in the villa must mean something somehow. Even though making an attempt at being stealthy to swipe a weapon would be a form of training. Ish. ]

I would presume so. It would be a small part of Italy's history, if it is. [He laughs lightly.][He pauses to think then nods a little bit, gesturing across the hall outside the room.] Si. There is an armoury on the other side of the house. Take a short blade from there, not a knife, but not as big as a sword.

[ Guess what she'll be doing if she comes across a library? Hey, it might have something! Or not. Going to the library could be some big adventure all over again. It's not like she does major research at home. ]

A short blade. 's it that much better'n a knife? [ But nod nod. She'll go picking something out. And be happy it's not some sword she'd reeeeeally have some bad luck with. ]

A knife does not have the safety of range, and a sword is too much for you to start with. [He gives her a half smile and looks back down at the book, closing it carefully and lifting it out to her.]

Put this back where you found it once you are done, grazie.
