high on yoga

I've been to yoga 3 times in the last couple of weeks, and twice I've felt AMAZING afterwards, tonight included. These are yoga classes in which I sweat quite a bit, which is not typically what I associate with yoga, but it seems to be working for me. The endorphins are lively after such a session, and I? So you've gotten that feeling from BodyFlow? I've taken that before and didn't get that zing, but then, I've taken plenty of yoga classes in the distant past and don't remember getting that feeling either.

Ah, endorphins. There is a reason exercise is often prescribed for the mildly to moderately depressed. I know that I feel better the more active I am - thank goodness for my biking buddy and his boundless almost 5 energy.

What kind of yoga are you doing?

I knew exercise was supposed to help with depression, but I never experienced it myself until now. (I may have enjoyed subtler, longer-term mood benefits.) Walking, running, biking, aerobics, even earlier yoga classes - none gave me the rush these classes did.

They were two different types of yoga, but at the same studio: Jivamukti and Flow Yoga. Flow yoga was last night, when I got the more obvious high.
