Spade was looking through his notes, but his mind was really elsewhere. He didn't know if anyone would bother taking the poll, but it was a start. Ever since he'd arrived, he'd gotten a big fat nothing in the information department, but he was not a man to just let things be. And there were a lot of unanswered questions

"Sam?" Jesse asked, looking into the doorframe at the man.

Oh, he was so much better looking than this guy.

"You. Are just messing everything up." he said through bared teeth.

"Do you hear yourself? What, do you think she shouldn't have any friends other than you? I'm not forcing her to do anything she doesn't want to do."

This...could have been going better.

[jesse_sex_god]

"No. Course not. Now theres gonna be no room for Jesse, just you watch and hell yes I'm gonna blame you."

Not with Jesse, if couldn't. Sorry about him.

T: *is actually rather amused. Sam...not so much.*

Quieter, he said, "You, kid, are the one pushing her away. She doesn't want to choose between us, and I'm not the one making her."

"Course not. Its always Jesse's fault."

T: Yeah, same here XD....Jesse has issues; he has the whole fucking subscription, actually.

"Don't know about always, as we just met. But in this case, yeah, it seems to be."

[jesse_sex_god]

"Fuck you, man. Fucking everything up," he said, turning once again to leave.

"How d'you figure? Or was that just talking out your ass?"

[jesse_sex_god]

Because his analysis of her was rattled.

Because he has no friends but her (And Randall, but he doesn't count) and now (in his opinion) Its going to end.

"I figure you're an asshole, that's what I figure."

[mancalledspade]

"Probably. But if I were that much of an asshole, I'd badmouth you to her after this, which I'm not going to. Because your friendship is none of my business."

He took a step toward Jesse, and suddenly it became quite clear that he was a rather large man. His voice was still calm. "But if you want to make it my business, that's your choice. I'm not going to step out of her life quietly just because you're too screwed up to imagine your friend could make choices that aren't about you."

"Badmouth me to her. Go right ahead."

[mancalledspade]

"Why? To justify your childish fantasies? What the hell could I gain from it?"

[jesse_sex_god]

Jesse's brain was scattered. It wasn't working.

"Jesus..." he grumbled.

[mancalledspade]

"Hard as this may be for you to believe, I'd rather she stayed friends with you. As, for most people, having more than one friend is usually a good thing."

[jesse_sex_god]

"Yeah. Well. fuck you man."

Apparently, he didn't believe him.
