Collecting BATMAN

Some 20-odd years ago, when I started Collecting Miniatures, I got a few that were BATMAN related....

I got the 'Heroes/Villians' Set, which included BATMAN, and Teen Titans, which included Nightwing - both in 25mm Scale, and the special BATMAN Set, which included BATMAN and The Joker in 60mm Scale

Over the years since then, I have gathered a (very) ( Read more... )

If you only have a small collection then that's the best way to keep it 'cause Batman (even just buying the vehicles) is a collecting juggernaut that's outta control.

In the words of Max Shreck from Batman Returns "God knows I know!"

Ironically some of the really good quality Batman die-cast vehicles came out after I stopped collecting.

Impressive Collection, which probably even out-classes that of the guy that was featured in the 1989 Movie Magazine

Something else I have in mine, which I probably should List as well, are two of the Batman Forever Glasses from McDonalds, the Judgement on Gotham - BATMAN v DREDD saga, and The Series of Birds of Prey

Yeah....I was dissapointed with Forever as well, and, when the Cinema had a Bomb Scare while it was showing, I took advantage of the Offer they had of getting my Money back on that one

Don't know *what* that Director was thinking on those two, but, they *are* still part of the Batman saga, and as such, I'll probably be wanting to have *those* vehicles in my eventual Batcave as well, just as I have those two Movies in my Collection also

I also have the 1966 Series, Cloned onto D.V.D.-R, which I can give you a Link for if you wnat to get it yourself?

Incidently....

Did you notice that Max Shreck is also the name of the Actor from Nosferatu??

Re the Max Shreck connection, yep I picked up on that the very first time I saw the film. As soon as the name was mentioned I thought "hang on...". What I don't know is WHY they used it.

Re my collection, it's one of those things where it's more quality than quantity as there's definately a lot of cheap rubbish in there. Fortunately when people see it all in one light it comes out as being impressive but that's only because of the volume - which is the advantage of being able to dedicate one whole room to it.

Regarding Batman Forever and Batman and Robin, yeah what a waste of space they were, especially B&R. I guess as soon as you change Directors, lead actors and production designer, the whole thing is gonna go down the gurgler.

Ironically BF and B&R reinforced the concept that first and second films of a quadrilogy would be great but three and four would be terrible. This happened with both the Superman and Alien series.

Re BF and B&R....

Yeah, if that Director wasn't so concerned about trying too hard, and bringing in the 'Nipple Suits' the Flashy Cars, and trying to bring in as many Characters as possible, then, they might have actually stood a chance

Re three and four of a group

Well, Chris Nolan is working on his third installment, and I think he has plans for a forth

Granted, they'll at least be with the same Director and Main Cast, but, he's already changed things for the second Movie anyway, making Barbara Gordon Jim's Wife, instead of Daughter, because judging by how old their Son was, any Daughter they might have at that time would be *way* too young to be Batgirl, if that's where he's going
