Joy of the day:  Reading The Tsar of Love and Techno by Anthony Marra.  Tragic, funny, amazing.

About Russians in Siberia and Chechnya--maybe you know A Constellation of Vital Phenomena, I think set in Chechnya also?

We considered that for our bookclub. We read another by him about Kosovo the title of which is escaping me for a moment.

Could it have been set in Chechnya instead of Kosovo? His Constellation of Vital Phenomena was set there. This new book is like it in some ways, but has more wry, dark humor, and a wider setting in time and space. The Tsar of Love and Techno is called "stories," but really it's a novel, much like the first book.
