The two heads, blonde and grizzled, were bent over the tavern table, studying something with great intent.
“Think it’s him?” Giselle asked her companion. “Don’t look like him.”
“They never do.” Gibbs replied, all knowing as usual. “Most time you have t’ go by the description. See here?” He pointed to the words below the drawing.
Giselle squinted at the placard. “Won’t do me no good, I can’t read. You’d think they’d get the drawing right if they wanted to catch him.”
“Don’t really need a picture.” Gibbs shrugged and took a long swallow of rum. “A name… and a reward will about do it in these waters.”
“Sure are a lot of words, though. What’s it say?”
Gibbs cleared his throat and read aloud:
“Wanted: Jack Sparrow. For willful commission of crimes against the Crown…Said crimes being numerous in quantity and sinister in nature … The most egregious of which to be cited herewith … Piracy… Smuggling… Impersonating a person of the Spanish Royal Navy… Impersonating a cleric of the Church of England… Sailing under false colors… Arson… Kidnapping… looting… poaching… pilfering… depravity… degradation… and general lawlessness….”
Gibbs shook his head and chuckled. “Aye, that about sums it up.”
