Alice smiles back, her eyebrows raised and eyes dancing with amusement. "Half day."

A beat and then: "Nice coat, Doctor Cullen."

"Esme," Jasper greets with a somewhat amused grin as he adverts his gaze politely. "Have a nice morning?"

Esme pulls the lab coat around her tighter. "Yes, as a matter of fact. Did I know you had a half day today?"

"You're our mother." Alice says innocently, blinking wide eyes at Esme. "You have our school schedule on the fridge."

Of course, they never go in there, but still. Teasing is fun.
