Being stuck inside is slowly driving Esme crazy. Edward gets to go to classes, Carlisle has his job and she's not allowed to leave the house

It's easy to overlook Carlisle's quiet footsteps sometimes, if you are distracted.

Edward shouldn't be home yet, so he expects that quiet. "Esme?"

She doesn't normally go hunting without him, but it's possible --

His voice startles her and one of the knots she is tying slips.

"In here."

Esme's room. Carlisle walks up the stairs, curious to see what Esme has been doing to occupy herself today. His expression from the doorway is one of confused surprise.

"And where did you find this?"

All Carlisle sees is Esme surrounded by aged fabric.

"In the attic," Esme says, looking up and smiling. "It matches the colors in your room nicely, so I'm cleaning it up and repairing it."
