Some school art + pokemon, so many pokemon

Dec 11, 2009 00:12

It feels like I've been doing nothing but drawing for weeks, and that is TRUE, but I have very little to show for it. About half those drawings (like...150? I dunno? However many frames that was...) were for an animation and the individual drawings in such a simple animation are not all that impressive. 8D I can't won't post the animation until I ( Read more... )

So cute! But so tragic.

...but so cute!

Awesome arts! I'm loving your roving cannons! The gun looks pretty good, too, it just has a bit of the wavery line thing going around the muzzle and in other places that could be solved by using the pen tool here and there.

Gah, your pokemon are all amazing/adorable. I like the Vulpix picture, though I agree it'd look way more awesome in brown ink. I got the 'sleeping, not dead' thing right away though. So cute! Great work on all of them!

As for me, I'd love to see partways animations. I like seeing the process, especially since I'm also learning about it right now and I really like seeing how other people are working. XD (Arg, Flash?! They ought to get Toon Boom so that you can make your shadows in about three seconds instead of redrawing every one! D:)

My hand is really shakey inking with the tablet for some reason! I basically never use rulers with my traditional inking so having to use straight line tools in digital really puts me off, argh. Guess I gotta bite the bullet though. Even though it's so..unconfortable. I always have that problem where it looks super obvious that certain bits have been done with a different tool, you know? Maybe thinner liners will help that. I might turn off line width variation as well.

I guess I could post the rough animation for you? Currently it's all coloured and inked, just needs a bit of tweaking, new backgrounds inserted and shadows... That's probably less useful to you than roughs. :)

Ha ha, I know how you feel... maybe going in with a pen at first and then erasing bits here and there will give a drawn look but still keep the lines on target?

As for rough animation stuff, I'd still love to see! I just finished a walk cycle today (there are so many things wrong... but the software tech was unhelpful. Arg) and I like to see what other folks are doing. XD Helps me get my butt in gear to try to be better for the next big thing!

If I can ever ever ever get Flash to export my rough correctly (CRASHTASMS LAWLS) I will post the vid for you!

I think ultimately I just have to learn to be more patient with digital work and get more practice with the tablet. :/ I'm generally pretty happy to slave away over a single line for ages when I'm inking with real ink but with digital I expect everything to go faster, dammit. It's kinda dumb. x) Gotta get into the habit of going in there and touching up the lines when previously I'd just move on!

Battery addicted Raichu! XD

Ugh, I totally get what you mean about group assignments. I luckily haven't had to do to many (I generally opt for the individual choice, even if it's harder, or I just say screw it and do my own thing.) I know that it's important to do group projects because you work with others in society but man is it frustrating. I remember one time I said one thing was the answer on a group question, and everyone was saying something else, and the teacher came around and told me I was correct, and they still put down the other answer. >< I much prefer working on my own.

I hope you passed! :)

Yeah... Working in groups is super important and all but in the real world (hopefully D:) at least people care about the task at hand! If only because they're getting paid. If I get to the real world and working in groups still sucks (to the same degree - I guess a certain amount of suckage is inevitable) I am going to be a sad panda. :

Yeah, but if you think about it, people are paying to be in school to get the grades to get a job, so if anything, they should care even more. But I guess since your in charge of yourself some people forget about that fact.

I think in the real world it's more about a single persons effort. Your job is to do your job, and your co-workers job to do theirs, and then your bosses job to make sure you are all doing it. I think. I've never had a job though so... I dunno. :P

I dunno, I've been running into people who just don't care. "My parents are paying for it so I don't care" is such a terrible excuse though. Your parents must be hella rich to put up with you, kid. :/

I'd like to think that in the real world doing your individual work is enough but since I'm expecting to end up in big group projects eventually (vidjagams 8D) the most important thing is going to be the end product, regardless of whether I put my share of work in. If that makes sense. I just really really really don't want to be the person that has to drag everyone else along by the ears to get things done. It is not a task I enjoy.

Dang those Wellington and Alexandros designs are cool! They actually look plausible too, awesome :D Love how the fuse is its tail. The gun is also super pretty.

Those sure are some nice environments. You did a really good job of giving us a sense of scale.

All the pokemon are adorable! I always love seeing your takes on them<3 I espeically enjoy the Noctowl/HootHoot piece<3

Haha, you can totally tell I thought about the gundogs the most, everything else is pretty blah by comparison. 8D

Now that I think about it those little people figures I stuck in there for scale-ness should be smaller. Ships are bigger than that!
