My letter to the editor got published in the Hawaii Tribune Herald today, October 1, 2008. Maybe the New York Times will pick it up and I can be on the Daily Show.
I like it! You add an important historical reference that a lot of people have probably either forgotten or didn't know. I certainly didn't realize that in the thrift crisis in the '80s, there was selectiveness about who got declared to be in crisis. Doesn't surprise me a bit, but I just never knew that.
