Last night I made #16 which I shall call Improv Curry Tortellini, sort of based on a recipe in my cookbook which is called "1001 vegetarian recipes" or something like that. The cookbook recipe included a bunch of veggies that I didn't have (thought I had some of them but it turned out not) so I went more minimal ( Read more... )

fyi, you've probably seen this mentioned before on the mom email list were are both on, but there are a few notable daycares and preschools that are open to 2 and a half year olds in fall instead of 2 years 9 months, and Open Center for Children near Tufts is one of them. (in addition to the daycares that start at infants and go up from there.)

hmm, thanks for the tip -- I hadn't really been thinking that far :) but it's definitely on my mind. The trouble with the Tufts center is that it'll be totally out of my way if Isaac ends up at my first-choice school and if my office moves to either of the two locations under consideration. But I will still keep it in mind.

The director of Isaac's preschool has said that she would hold his spot open for Ruthie from Sept - Dec if I want, so that's a good fallback option, but I just don't know. Depending on where the office ends up being, having Ruthie at the daycare in Davis Square could suddenly become hugely *in*convenient (whereas right now it's hugely convenient).
