I think the Captain Kirk card is great. You are equating your dad to Kirk, the ultimate mega-dad. You know he's got little Kirklings scattered throughout the galaxy, little fair-haired grinning imps terrorizing everyone around them with their genetic awesomeness. I say yes, any dad would be proud to be equated with Captain James Tiberius Mack Daddy Kirk. Even as George Washington was the father of our country, I do declare Captain Kirk to be the father of the galaxy. And BOOYAH to him!

And in other news, my record in making non-serious comments to serious posts continues untarnished. ;-)

When I think of Kirk and fatherhood, I think of that line about him never forgiving the Klingons for the death of his son. ( Whom he didn't even raise.) Great dads don't get their sons killed by Klingons!

DH and I really like "A League Of Their Own" and quote it constantly, especially the line, "There's no crying in baseball!"

I think DH would get a kick out of card like that. LOL

I tihnk that the upshot of other people's comments, and the existance ofthe cards, is that context is completely ignored when we look at cards like this. Also, you're thinking too hard B-)
