Thank you so much! Metaphor is a dicey thing to write and I'm always a bit afraid of overdoing it and clubbing the reader over the head with it. I'm so glad to hear that it worked for you here. :-)

And yeah, spring is very sexy. I'm a gardener to my soul, and I can't think of spring in any other terms than plants and life and fecundity.

I used to have a wonderful t-shirt with a woodblock print of a post-orgasmic-looking sunflower under a beaming sun, with a sated bee buzzing away nearby. The title was "Hortisexual". I mourned when the shirt finally disintegrated after years of wearing and washing. *g*
