Pairing: Bb!Sungmin x Bb!Kyuhyun Friendship, Kangteuk
Rating:Pg-13
Genre: Fluff
Warnings: Swearing, drama
Summary: Sungmin met Kyuhyun at preschool, and now their friendship has brought two old enemies from school together. Can Leeteuk and KangIn patch things up? And will KangIn ever be able to be the proper father for Kyuhyun?
KangIn hated the way his voice betrayed him to Soo. Hated it. Hated it. HATED IT. And it must have hated him back when it cracked.
“H-how did you get this number?” his fingers prodded blindly across the desk for something to ease his anxiety. Shingdong jerked his head up once he heard the Soo’s name mentioned and took his leave to who knows where, not anticipating or wanting to be present during whatever might happen next in the awkward conversation.
“I’m calling about, Mr. Park? And our fashion line’s photo shoot for him. You may have heard of it before, Valtagehwun, the president offered that Mr.Park would be the one modeling our clothing.” KangIn felt his heart break just a bit.
“Yes, so what time is the photo shoot? And is there anything he’ll need to bring?” KangIn asked.
“Umm, just water I suppose, make up will be handled by our own people. It’s starts at ten sharp in two days, so he’ll need at least thirty minutes before that time to get ready.”
“Alright, is there anything else?” the line went silent for a few seconds before Soo spoke up.
“Youngwoon-sshi, I want Kyuhyun back. And I won’t stop, even if it means that we have to make this a public issue.” KangIn bit his lip to not say something rude, but he bit so hard that he could taste a droplet of blood.
“Soo, you left him, how is he going to feel about it? But, I do have to thank you, because of you, Kyuhyun and I have gotten to spend more time together and he doesn’t hate me anymore. Now, because you don’t have anything else business related, goodbye.” KangIn hung up without giving Soo a chance to say anything else and he ran a hand over his face, ready to just hit something. He couldn’t do this, he just couldn’t, getting this job was a terrible idea, and now that Soo had his workplace for a business relation, she’s gained a new place to haunt him even if she’s not there. He just couldn’t-“
“Youngwoon-sshi? Are you okay? You look a little green.” KangIn removed his hand from his face and saw Leeteuk in front of his desk, coat in hand and leaning over it to meet KangIn’s nose almost with his own. KangIn pulled away and gathered things from his personal drawer. A picture of Kyuhyun was the only thing in it; the small baby Kyuhyun loosely gripping a toy wrench in his hand and beaming a toothless smile up at the camera, and that just made him feel worse.
“A company called about a photo shoot, you’re need in two days before ten.” KangIn said hoarsely. Leeteuk pinched KangIn’s ear as the said male bent down to close the drawer and yanked on it, earning him a yelp.
“Hyung! What was that for?!” KangIn growled as he held his now red and tender ear.
“Something’s bothering you and I want to know what it is!” Leeteuk never missed anything it seems, so KangIn blurted out the first excuse that came to mind.
“It’s because Kyuhyun and Sungmin don’t have school in two days! We need someone to watch over them.” Leeteuk blinked a few times, and then stood up straight, thinking about what KangIn pointed out.
“Get a friend to watch them.”
“Heechul?” Leeteuk snapped his head at KangIn and glared.
“NO.” KangIn shrank back a little, he had forgotten it was Heechul’s fault that Leeteuk panicked over his son’s safety.
“Guess, we’ll talk about it later then.” He said to himself. Leeteuk didn’t bother trying to understand what KangIn barely said and threw his coat on.
“Do you want to come with me to pick up the kids or you stay back here and do some more work.” KangIn didn’t waste a second and got his jacket on in a flash. Following Leeteuk to the Garage and saying goodbyes to a few of the other workers, KangIn spared a moment in his thoughts about how Leeteuk had invited him to pick up Sungmin and Kyuhyun. The kids sounded like Sungmin and Kyuhyun were Leeteuk and KangIn’s children, not separately, like family friends, but like they all lived together as a complete family. And it was kind of nice. KangIn’s face broke into a small smile as he pondered about the children. Leeteuk looked back over his shoulder and became confused at his dongsaeng’s sudden happiness. Testing to see if KangIn’s mind was still with him, Leeteuk stepped aside and waited by the wall, watching with amusement as KangIn kept walking forward into a glass wall that doubled as a window on their 2nd floor. Snapping back into reality, KangIn rubbed his forehead and turned back to be met with a doubled over and laughing Leeteuk. KangIn grumbled and roughly yanked his elder by the arm upon to his feet and stomped the rest of the way to the garage( and succeeding in startling a good few people as he passed).
==Same time, Kindergarten==
It was nap time. A time when every bouncy and sugar-high child that would have been running around the room finally is put at ease. The room was quiet and still, only the soft breathing of each young one could be heard. Near the window laid out in a line were four mats and blanketed figures together. Sungmin looked at Kyuhyun’s side and puffed his cheeks out, looking much like a blowfish, and did a quick glance around the room to check for any teachers. The only evidence that the children weren’t left behind was voices from the hallway in low and shushed tones. Deeming it safe, Sungmin inched his way over to Kyuhyun’s sleeping . He got close up to the other’s face and poked his cheek over and over again to wake him up.
“Kyu kyu!” he whispered, the said child stirred awake, his hair slightly tousled and dark brown eyes glaring at whoever woke him up before he reliazed his elder was in his personal bubble.
“What do you want, hyung?” he grumbled into his sleeping mat. Sungmin bit his lip and looked with his best puppy to the younger.
“Kyu kyu, I’m sorry about earlier, are we still friends?” Kyuhyun made eye contact with the one eye that wasn’t meshed to the mat. He smiled sweetly and wrapped an arm around the smaller of the two.
“Definitely hyung. I’ll never stop being your friend.”
There was a squeak from the door and footsteps shortly after, before the teacher decided to turn on the lights and wake everyone up.
“Nap time’s over everyone, it’s time for your parents to pick you up.” One by one, each child got their things from their cubbies and rolled up the mats to store in a closet. Kyuhyun glanced nervously to Ryeowook, who was helping Kibum roll up her mat. The last minute before he left the room, Ryeowook saw him and waved sheepishly, causing him to hastily look down and drag a protesting Sungmin and (not as protesting) bunny plushie out to the parking lot. Outside was of course, Leeteuk’s silver minivan waiting patiently with KangIn driving. As the boys walked to the car Leeteuk spotted someone he recognized.
“Hangeng-ssi!” Leeteuk called out the china woman. He ran as quickly as he could to catch up to her before she left. He almost doubled over when Leeteuk finally stopped in front of Hangeng. She quirked a eyebrow and ushered her little sister into the back seat of her mustang.
“Yes, oppa?” Leeteuk threw his head up and stared at her before speaking again.
“In two days, could you look after Kyuhyun and Sungmin for KangIn and I? We both have a very important project to do and I can’t think of anyone else to leave our children with.” Hangeng slowly nodded her head, letting Leeteuk release a contented sigh and a smile.
“Did you say ‘our’ children? I thought you two weren’t married.” Hangeng pointed out nonchalantly. Leeteuk’s face turned three different shades of pink before settling with a fuchsia in his cheeks.
“W-well, we aren’t really married, but I guess you could say that since we’re together a lot of times now along with both of our children I kind of consider them family.” He confessed, Hangeng smiled and placed her hand across her heart.
“With that kind of honesty, I’d be happy to help watch over Sungmin and Kyuhyun for you two, oppa.”
“Thank you, Hangeng-ssi.” Leeteuk started before a loud honk made him jump and flail around a little. Behind him was a smirking KangIn and bright eyed Kyumin waiting for him to get back into the van. With one last wave, Leeteuk left Hangeng and was in good spirits all the way back home.
