The punch card automatic dialer looks like the most useless thing ever, especially when they introduce it along side the touch-tone phones. Yet, sometimes I think it would be fun to visit a world where you could run everything - including kitchen appliances and the car stereo - off of punch cards and all the displays used nixie tubes and everyhing was all very House of Tomorrow (or like a Lost bunker). ...But I wouldn't want to live there. I mean, no iPods to crochet cozies for!
Also: Once Upon a Honeymoon, which has a lot to do with phones and very little to do with honeymoons.
