someone at work has a couple that rents from him that just got married. they went to 5/3 bank to put their money into a CD and the bank could only offer them .5% interest and told them they should just keep the money under their mattress.

Not under the mattress. Gotta put it somewhere more creative. the first place I would check for cash when raising funds to fight zombies would be under the mattress.

or in a coffee can in the freezer. i would look there next.
better store it in your poop chute just to be safe.

actually, when my dad was replacing a wooden board in the outhouse in canada, he saw a coffee can on a string hanging down into the pooper. he figured maybe his dad hid some money in there, because he liked to stash his money. it was only moth balls, but it would have been an awesome money hiding spot.
