What the hell? I want the penguin pictures!!

The grandson above is charming (though I think he's reserving his opinion on this Santa guy) But I want the penguins. or Pen Wings as Benedict Cumberbutt would say.

Who are PHil and Linda?

I'm going to download them tonight, but I probably won't be able to post them until tomorrow. I'm picking up my Mom in just a bit to take her shoe shopping for her birthday, and I'm expecting that to take...oh, forever. But, if you can wait just a little longer, I promise to bring the goods. :)

Pen Wings Pen Gu Wins Pen Gu Wings

Philinda is Phil Coulson/Melinda May from Agents of SHIELD. I love May because she's one of the strongest female characters on television these days. She's aggressive but not a bitch, motherly but not a mother, complicated, intelligent, dangerous, and heroic. (She even has a juicy backstory complete with hot ex-husband to thicken the plot...how often do we get that?) Coulson, on the other hand, is the charming, nerdy, surprisingly levelheaded (at least most of the time) boss of an espionage agency that just happens to deal with "gifted humans" and the occasional alien. He low-key crushes on May for like two and a half seasons. The actors ship them, too.

That's a great gif!

Shoe shopping is horror show, you have my deepest sympathy.

But you also got to pet Penguins, so maybe not as much sympathy as you would have gotten had you not been petting the penwings. :P

Now, I have a question. How much of a ripparologist are you? I'm debating between to xmas prezzies, one is ripperology, one is Nazi Serial killer (and I don't mean in the Nazi's were killing everybody kind of way). Or is there something you'd like other then true crime books? Enquring minds want to know.

Also how did you like The Martian once you finished it. there is an alternate ending that I happen to like a lot, its not well formatted but it was the original ending of the book. its in the comments here.

admittedly he's being a dick, but I find that charming for some reason. ;)

I put off reading the original ending until tonight because I was afraid I wouldn't like it, or that the ending had been drastically changed (as far as his ultimate fate) when it went into paperback to make it more commercial. I'm glad my fears were for nothing... I really appreciate when an author doesn't stray too far from his vision.

I'm not sure if I mentioned it, but I really enjoyed The Martian. It was one of - if not the best - book I read all year. Thank you again!!!

What avidreadergirl said. all of it. I was about to make a pengwings joke, but she already beat me to it! And thanks for the Philinda explanation, because I'm only vaguely familiar with the whole Marvel world.

Pengwins, please!
