Well, I guess there's always a crying need for rocket scientists? No seriously, it's one of the bitter facts about war: good military scientists will be snatched up by the winner and employed again in no time if they're willing to switch sides (Operation Paperclip). As for Walt Disney, well there are a couple of things suggesting that he didn't mind some Nazi theories, so... it might indeed be a small world in certain social circles.

von Braun used concentration camp labor in his rocket assembly; he should have hung at Nuremberg. Operation Paperclip was like spitting in the face of holocaust victims, just so the US could claim "first!" on going to the moon.

Old Walt was a horrible anti-Semite. It's not surprising the two got along.
