whoah. I'm puzzled too. I'm also calling bullshit. Ms. BR thang herself was all "that's not Banana Republic". I agree, she's full of it and looks like some royalities are due.

but his was a jacket, right? this is a full-on dress which i think is much prettier and more elegant (which isn't to say i even really like it). also, i think the fact that this is a "limited edition" is sort of telling of the fact that it really isn't a very b.r. look.

It's part of their Memoirs of a Geisha line. It's OOOOOLD news.

There's a very distinct "look" for each of the brands of Gap, Inc.... And that kimono is most definitely not part of the BR look to begin with. It's difficult to describe, it's just more of a feeling.

eh - Santino's was a full-blown Asian robe with the sash and everything - this is a navy dress with some stuff on the front. I don't think they're that similar.
