it's coming up to meredith's first birthday and i'm looking for someplace to order a b'day cake.. anyone have any ideas/lobangs? am thinking of a "fancier" cake since it's the girl's first b'day! =)
it really depends on how much you want to spend. there's good 'ole prima deli, bengawan solo, emicakes, swensen's etc. - which do those cartoon pix on top of the cakes. or fanciful ones like canele, mezza9, la patissier etc. - great for 3D styles but cost a lot more. or just really yummy ones like awfully chocolate. - simple, fuss-free and most importantly has CHOCOLATE! heh.
i was thinking of going the whole hog this time around.. so perhaps a 3d cake. especially since this is the only b'day where she can't have any of the cake anyhow, so i can focus on how the cake looks and have it taste good for adults (and not have to cater to kid's diets)
If you don't mind going all out and get the full works, Canele and The Patissier would definitely catapult you to taitai-dom. My niece's first birthday cake was from Smiling Orchid.
