Next chapter. I'm struggling a little bit with some of the upcoming chapters after this arc, but only a little bit - mainly trying to get all my ideas and plots in a row, which is like herding cats at the best of times - and man, am I still having lots of fun. I hope you guys enjoy reading this as much as I enjoy writing it!

Darius' brother is a Drag-queen! *Darius'* Brother is a *drag-queen*!!! DARIUS' BROTHER IS A DRAG-QUEEN!!!! *Falls over laughing tries to get up and falls over again* OH. MY. GOD. This was even better than the imaging converstation b/t Darius and Ryou. And That Darius got a kick out of Ryou's reaction *falls over again* Oh, god it hurts. The laughing. C-can't breathe. Darius just won 10,000 points in the 'Get under Ryou's skin' game. I'm glad Leyam was such a hit with the readers ^__^ He's a really fun (if somewhat scary) character to write.

Okay - That was cool - I htink I was caught as off guard as Ryou was! I loved the the way Darius and the Bitch King worked the crowd together - that was kind of hot, actually.

The illness is probably malaria or something closely related. Aside from the fever, weakness and aches in the joints was one of the other primary symptoms.

As Nia suggested, teh shaking sickness is malaria. Assyria is hot and not too marshy so they don't have tooo much of it, but there is some. Just one of many fun diseases Ryou can catch!

It;s THE reason why he wanted Ryou to meet Leyam (well, that and because he wants his lover to meet his brother, natch) He just TOTALLY SCORED on the 'tease Ryou' game there.

'Beneath all the surreal drag paraphernalia, I'm betting this is, in part, a more theatrical rendition of "show them nothing". '

OMG, I love leyam!!!! Drag queen king rocks my socks. and I would love to see sura in real life. in my mind, the walkways make it seem almost fairy like.

It's a bit grimmier than Ryou's first glimpse of it showed him, but it does have an exotic beauty to it in my head.

Glad you liked the descriptions and the details! I love adding those little details...

I now officially adore Leyam, I find it cute that Ryou's been adopted by one of the men as his charge, and the Hound act that Darius put on at his brother's knee was kick-ass.

Now, all Ryou has to do to totally win the King's favor is start bringing fashion magazines from his world once he learns how to 'hop' accurately. Possibly new makeups that do not contain galena or lead and are therefore toxic.

Yes, some of the makeup at the time was fearsome. Ryou would have to bring back a paint-pot's worth, though, because I imagine Leyam goes through a lot of it. Glad you adore this crazy king ^__^ He's definitely up there with Ryou and Darius in my 'fun guys to write' category.
