A couple of days late! Work is still crazy and then I spend too much of my little free time reading manga.

Okay, I suppose this is not the right place to ask the question that is bothering me for quite the time since you started Freeport 2.0, but I'll ask it anyway, so please don't feel offended.

You know, I was wondering if your comeback to the Gundam fandom will be just a one time thing or if there will be hope for your unfinished story The Source Of All Things...? I would love to see how this story will develop and how it will end for our pretty boys.

Well, it did cross my mind that this reboot of Freeport might tempt me into writing Source again, as I'd start off rewriting Source as well and correcting a few things. We'll see how well the Freeport rewrite goes. I have so little time these days, though, as well as massive writer's block...*sigh*

I love this chapter - never saw it coming (the first time I read freeport), and it turned the whole story 90 degrees on its side, and everything still worked beautifully. I also loved the conscious parallel between Wufei and Treize in this chapter. I love it when fanfic writers remember that Wufei is the one that killed Treize, but it's a rare and beautiful thing when they can, in addition to that, render a view of the complex emotions Wufei felt towards him.

Caught a couple typos:

Duo's foot had landed on it hard, it would have rolled if Wufei's weight hadn't anchored it. <-- I think this comma wants to be a semicolon

The look in their eyes when he had them in his grip for the legal twenty four hours and their realized their petty little threats and bribes weren't going to get them out... <-- Should be "they realized" not "their realized"

I think the thing that annoys me most about a lot of fics with Treize/Wufei pairings is that they completely steamroller all that complexity. Yes, Wufei and Treize's relation is knotted and compex. No, it's not as simple as I LURVE YOU! and in fact doesn;t go anywhere near there. Guh.

Thanks for the typo spotting! *fixes*

this part always really gets to me - wufei's motives and his true reasons for being in freeport finally revealed, and his misguided beliefs and willingness to be used in the name of a so-called peace is tragic, in a way. 'dead men walking' - there's really no better way to describe the life he'd been leading. being sent to freeport was truly the best thing to have happened to him.

I can't help it but I'm going to sound so, so, so fucking sappy but it need to be said :

The bond between Trowa, Heero, and Wufei is just beautiful ! (Oh hell ! I can't believe I just said that).

What you've just described is heartwrenching. I can see those three men lying to each other, manipulating and protecting each other, and how much they fear for each other. To me this is what all of this shit is about. Romance is the most expedient way to get this kind of relationship (with the bonus of porn, mustn't forget the porn), but this kind of interdependancy is just what I what want to see.

You can trust somenone to see you at you worst, at your most despicable and still this person won't fail you, won't judge you. You'll have you back guarded and no one to pry. Just respect.

Hum... well, it's just beautiful.

Of all the perfect phrases in Freeport, this is the best:

"He stifled a whimper because he was Chang Wufei, damnit."

Love it!
