I've been trying to remember all of the deermon's attributes for Moffat.

Nerve Gas out of the eyes
Breath fire or lightning or something
Flight capable wings
Armored skin of some sort
Sharp spines?

Eventually they go interstellar... survive in the void of space and all that.
