I know what you mean about tumblr. I'm not a fan either. Especially since I'm on dial-up but then things here haven't really changed for the better sadly. The thing I am most unhappy about is like you said tumblr not having the sort of commenting/replying to comments function that LJ or DW does makes it tedious trying to discuss things which is sadly a reflection on fandom these days is my guess. On the other hand as I've experienced on tumblr too: fandom wank is alive and well. I cringed because I avoided it for so long just by not going certain places but there it's hard to look away because you search a tag and people mis-label things to piss others off... ah, I'm ranting.

Yeah, the tag system makes it hard to avoid wank. And I feel like tumblr wank is the worst because it spreads to so many people so fast.

I'm just mentally not perpared anymore for wank. Apart from it being stupid, I don't have the nerve because funnily even though you tell yourself it's stupid it still makes your blood rise on occasion asking yourself why people are so stupid and hateful. Don't know if that makes any sense.

I don't have a fandom now, since BSG ended and I broke up with Tahmoh, so my crush on Jeremy Renner is turning fangirly, but I know what you mean. I feel like LJ moved on without me.
