Yay! I'm so glad that Thanksgiving worked out for you guys! You have a heart of gold, not only are you making a good thanksgiving for youself, you're helping by inviting others that may not have had a great thanksgiving otherwise.

I was talking with Danielle today about how long we've known each other. she was six going on seven when we met, and she's been putting up with me for 21 years. Lately a lot of people have been lining up to tell me what a horrible person I am and how I'm not a good friend and I'm a hypocrite and I'm all these bad things that I will never realize about myself because I will not listen to the trufax they speak. but Danielle has known me for many, many years, and she still says she thinks I'm a pretty ok person, so that holds more weight for me than the words of people who think they know everything about me after even ten years. This may sound corny coming from someone you only know online and never met but I think you are one of the most awesome people I know. You've been through so much and still keep it ( ... )

Not weird or creepy at all! I think you're awesome too! I'll make sure to post pictures after the epic Thanksgiving feast is over.

when people hear I'm having my thanksgiving dinner on friday (cuz there ain't no Thursday Thanksgiving break in retail, yo) and they hear I'm eating with Danielle and the girls they ask, "Why aren't you eating with your family?" I reply that I am.

WORD. 'Family' doesn't have to be blood...it's the people who come through when you need them. That's so awesome about your Thanksgiving dinner, you're way braver than I am (I'd never attempt to cook a turkey!). U GO GURL. \m/

+1 to that. One of the things I've learned from my own jacked-up family is that real family is more than "people to whom I am biologically or legally related" ... real family is about acceptance and love.

*HUG* I'm glad you get to have a Thanksgiving feast and hope you have a peaceful, joyous weekend.

It took me a long time to learn what real family is because of the fucked up pictures I have in my head, but I'm grateful for the people I have in my life now who I consider to be my family.

I was terrified the first time I cooked a turkey. The first time, I burned it because there wasn't enough broth or whatever to keep it moist. The second time, I cooked it with WAAAYYY too much broth (because I was afraid of burning it again) so it wound up being a turkey soup. The times after that, they've turned out well, though, so it's not as nerve wracking as it used to be for me!
